Privacy policy

Powerhouse Cleaning Solutions is the responsible party for personal information collected through powerhousecs.co.za, the Powerhouse Car Wash and Powerhouse Mobile. We process it in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

• Orders: name, email, cellphone, delivery address, order history. Payment details are handled by PayFast or Yoco — we never see or store card numbers.
• Account: login email, profile, vehicles you add to My Garage, loyalty and Refill Club records.
• Waitlists, service requests and Founding reservations: name, cellphone, email (optional unless needed), suburb, services and vehicle counts.
• Reviews and gallery posts: the content you submit, your name (shown) and email (never shown).
• Site usage: first-party analytics (pages viewed, basic events) without third-party advertising trackers.

Why we use it

• To process and deliver orders, provide services and run your account and loyalty points.
• To contact you about a request you made — e.g. when your suburb’s mobile route goes live or the car wash opens.
• To plan where to open — suburb sign-ups are counted in aggregate to choose locations and routes.
• To send marketing only if you opted in. Opt-in boxes are never pre-ticked and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

Only operators who help us deliver the service, under contract: our courier (The Courier Guy), payment providers (PayFast, Yoco), our database host (Supabase) and email provider (Resend). Some of these process data outside South Africa under adequate safeguards as POPIA requires. We never sell or rent your information.

How long we keep it

Order and tax records for five years, as the law requires. Waitlist and request data until the request is fulfilled or you ask us to delete it. Marketing consent until you withdraw it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to its use, and withdraw marketing consent at any time. Email hello@powerhousecs.co.za and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).

Security

Data is stored in access-controlled systems over encrypted connections. Only the owner and authorised staff can see customer records.
