Dressing tyres without sling
A satin black finish that stays on the rubber — not flicked down the side of the car.

Sling is the greasy spatter of tyre shine flung onto paint as you drive off. It comes from too much product on rubber that is still wet or dirty. Clean rubber, thin coats, and a few minutes to dry fix it every time.
- 1
Clean the rubber properly
Spray Wheel Rescue on the tyre wall and scrub with a stiff brush until the foam goes from brown to white. Old dressing and brown “blooming” must come off.
- 2
Dry the tyre
Dressing on a wet tyre runs. Towel it or let it air-dry fully.
- 3
Apply to the pad, not the tyre
A few drops onto the applicator, then work into the sidewall. Thin and even. Avoid the tread.
Bay tip · Want more shine? A second thin coat after ten minutes beats one thick coat.
- 4
Wipe excess and wait
Wipe the sidewall with a dry towel and give it ten minutes before you drive.
Common mistakes
- Spraying straight onto the tyre and the brake disc
- Dressing a dirty or wet tyre
- Using solvent dressings that brown and crack rubber in UV
